At the end of August, my sister's mare Zazzy had a freak accident and ended up running through 3 wooden fences. This caused significant traumatic wounds that resulted in her needing to stay at an equine clinic to receive IV antibiotics, daily wound care, and several procedures to remove wood splinters and dead tissue.
Initially, the vets estimated her stay at 1-2 weeks. While she improved every day, healing was slow and her stay ended up being one month. This is a huge financial burden on my sister, and I would like to help relieve some of that for her (she would never ask for help herself!) The funds I am trying to raise would cover less than half of the total bill, and even though Zazzy is now home she will require regular visits from the vet to make sure her healing is on track.
My sister, Stephanie, has a very close bond with Zazzy and would do anything to give this mare the best life she can. Any and every donation will be a huge help and so appreciated.
