Hey Everyone,
This summer, I’ve been granted a spot in the Summer Residency Program for the New York Academy of Art (NYAA)! From the morning I read the email, to now, the thought still gives me chills. When I first decided to pursue my passion in art, opportunities such as this always seemed amazing for many others, but I never thought I would qualify. That being said, when have we ever been able to say exactly what we’re ready for? This program makes me nervous. The thought of what could happen intimidates me. But that’s never stopped me before.
However, this is “GoFundMe,” so that means there is some sort of barrier in my way. The overall cost of the program in full is $3800. Luckily, with a small scholarship, and paying for the deposit, the remaining fee is $2800 plus traveling there independently ($400+). Working more hours alone won’t get me to my goal, so perhaps we can all work together.
For the past two weeks, I’ve been making prints of selected works in my portfolio (found on my website). In exchange for a donation, I offer you my work. Of course, should you like something other than a print, reach out and let’s talk!
All of you have been amazingly supportive throughout my entire life (or as long as you’ve known me, lol). Some of you have seen me work, seen me succeed, seen my fail, and seen me grow… Its time for me to grow a little more. I feel that the best way to fund this opportunity for my art, is to pay for it with my art. In whatever form you may be able to help, I’d appreciate your support!
The Residency:
At the NYAA, as a resident I will take five classes over the span of four weeks in June.
- Drawing: Exploration of the Human Form
- Contemporary Art History in New York
- Art & Culture Studies: Museums, Galleries, Artist Studios
- Dialogues in Painting: Traditional Materials
- Sculpting the Figure: Perceptual Modeling
My schedule will consist of classes at the Academy from 10 - 5pm. Room and board are covered in the overall cost, but food and Museum entry will be my responsibility.
The Prints:

Prints of my work will vary in size for each piece. I will do my best to meet general frame sizes (if needed). You can choose between a white border on the edges, or no border at all. See the "Reward Levels" Section for detailed information on what you will receive.
There will be a round of small prints and large prints, depending on donation size. Each will accompany
-A personal thank you note
-My card
-A password to a newly designed page on my website where I will update you on my trip and current projects on my "Collector’s Blog."
