Zachary G Malmgren memorial fundraiser

Zachary Gustaf Malmgren was a force of nature. A loyal friend and a beautiful genius.

I first met Zach as a freshman in college. I was introduced by our other great friend Johnny, and we all moved in together into a tiny dorm room soon after that. The three of us had some of the best times of our lives that year.

I have never stopped being surprised at how many people knew and loved Zach. He could keep you talking all night... And if you didn't respond, he kept talking anyway. He was so fiercely your friend, and would never let you forget that. I can't even count how many times I woke up to long paragraphs about absolutely anything, squinting to catch up with whatever he had said... Sometimes at 5am getting ready for work, while he was still awake three hours behind me... After I had fallen asleep just a few hours before, because we were talking late about something completely different.

I haven't seen Zach in years and it was like we were never states apart, doing our own things.

I know this is very specific to me, but I'm absolutely certain that so many people had the same experience with Zach. So many people knew him and loved him for how charismatic and special he was. He had a special relationship with everybody who knew him, no matter the distance.

Zach passed unexpectedly in his sleep on 11/2/22. Funeral costs are obviously a stress when something unexpected and heartbreaking like this happens. Anything that you can give to help relieve his family at this time would be so greatly appreciated.

Zachary was a father and a son, as well as a grandson, a nephew, a friend and a lover. My best friend is gone and I absolutely know I'm not the only person to feel gutted by this immense loss. His reach is so far beyond people that I actually know that sharing this would help so immensely.
