Recovery

Welcome family and friends!

First off, On behalf of Ashley (kiddos), Ashley’s family and Chads family we say Thank You for the continued love and support during this life changing event that took place 8-21-2021. The journey has just begun and the family will need the continued love and support for days, weeks and possibly months to come.

For anyone that is new to this story a little back ground. Chad was at work on 8-21-2021 when he started to experience left side weakness, he was rushed to the hospital where they discovered he had suffered a stroke due to a brain bleed caused by high blood pressure. Chad was placed on a vent and taken to have a drain placed in his head to slowly drain the bleed. Since then as most serious medical conditions there have been steps forward and 3 steps backwards. Chad required a trach to be placed in which limits rehabilitation options and places to go when his time comes to be sent to rehab.

The family has chosen Madonna in Nebraska for his rehabilitation. Chad deserves the absolute best chance to make a fully recovery OR the best recover Chads body will allow.

With that being said, there comes a lot of financial needs. Ashley and the kids will stay in Topeka as the kiddos need their schedules to stay as close to normal as possible because their worlds have been turned upside down enough with daddy being sick. Ashley will continue her job that she loves, but obviously Chads income will decrease a lot. And as we all know the bills do not stop. Madonna does have housing available for families but it costs $50.00 a night for them to stay. So money donated will go towards their stay in housing, gas and food. This very well could be a long road so any assistance is greatly appreciated and nobody likes to ask for help, but if we can all continue to rally behind this amazing family we can make it easier.

As everyone knows also the kids are very much into sports, so some of the funds will help them continue what they love to do to help them through this transition of the current “new normal”.

Ashley will continue to keep everyone updated through the caring bridge page. It is the best and easiest way to keep everyone informed but remember she’s being pulled in 10 different directions and is mentally, emotionally and physically exhausted so bare with her!

Again to everyone who has provided a meal, is signed up to provide a meal we deeply, deeply appreciate YOU! Like I have said this journey has just begun and this family needs all the love and support we have to offer!!
