Surgery for Charlie

Charlie, our beautiful, sweet, cheeky little best friend is in need of your help.
What happened:
On the morning of May 7th, 2019, our beloved 8 year old Shiba Inu Charlie began showing signs of pain and discomfort. His pain very quickly escalated to the point where he would scream if he tried to move, and he retreated to my arms where he whimpered and trembled.
In a panic, I called my husband Ryan to come home from work and help me get him to the emergency veterinarian.
We carried him to the car and rushed him in. A physical exam showed that he was experiencing some severe pain in his lower back. He screamed so loud when his low back was touched. The vet suspects it may be intervertebral disk disease (IVDD). They gave us some pain management medication, and talked to us about diagnosis and surgery.
The Cost:
The vet says Charlie will need an MRI to help diagnose the problem. We should expect to pay approximately $2,000 for the MRI.
Should the results come back positive for IVDD, the surgery for Charlie will be from $4,000 to $6,000.
We are absolutely shook. Charlie is only 8 years old (his breed's life expectancy is 12-15 years!), and has a beautiful heath history. His vet visits were always filled with praise for how healthy he is! We never had any idea this would happen, and are not financially prepared for almost $10,000 in treatment (factoring in appointment costs, bloodwork, and medication).

We are asking for your donations to help us bring Charlie's quality of life back. No well loved 8 year old dog should be unable to play, go for walks or even go pee on his own. We want our boy to have the long, happy, playful life he deserves, and with your help, we can give that back to him.
Your contributions will be used to:
Find a full diagnosis via MRI (a cost of approximately $2,000)
Undergo surgery to address his pain (approximately $4,000 to $6,000)
We have put our donation goal at an optimistic $6,000 to pay for the MRI and the low-end cost of his surgery only. All other costs incurred we will attempt to finance on our own.
