Keep Moving Forward

On October 8th I'll be running the Chicago Marathon to raise funds for The Mustard Tree Foundation. This is a not-for-profit foundation that helps teens and young adults fight substance abuse. 100% of the foundation's fundraising dollars help provide scholarships for young adults that cannot afford to attend a recovery program and scholarships for graduates to get training to be counselors to help others. The Insight Program is the recovery center of focus for The Mustard Tree Foundation because of it's focus on this young adult population. They use a method called Enthusiastic Sobriety™ which is based on the belief that in order for substance abuse treatment to be effective for young people, it must be fun and feel good. Substance abuse is a serious problem affecting thousands of young people and families across the country. This problem has been increasing for decades and continues at an alarming pace today. By utilizing Enthusiastic Sobriety™ as its treatment philosophy Insight provides a program that reaches young people where they live. I've personally come to know and respect this program and all the great work each of the counselors at The Insight Program do day in and day out to help with this epidemic. By donating to my race you're doing something too. Please help with any amount you wish to contribute. And thank you!
