Meka's Medical Fund

Meka Dela Cruz is an 18 year old beautiful, incredibly talented and artistic young woman. Just recently, Meka was diagnosed with 3 ovarian cysts on both ovaries – one very large cyst on her left ovary and two cysts ones on her right ovary. She will be having surgery at the end of January where doctors plan to remove them. The tricky part is that the doctors will not know until Meka is in surgery, if the cysts can be removed without having to remove her ovaries as well. If Meka’s ovaries need to be removed, it could render her infertile permanently. With all of the uncertainty that lies ahead, Meka’s doctors have urged her to undergo a procedure to freeze and store her eggs for the future and her surgery.

As many of you know, the cost of this procedure is not fully covered by insurance and a large amount needs to be paid up front before you can even begin the process. Being on such a short time frame (basically funds need to be raised by early January) we are reaching out to our family and friends to assist in raising the funds needed for Meka to freeze her viable eggs prior to undergoing surgery. 

She is still so young and has her whole life ahead of her. Although she will not be having children in the near future, she knows that someday, she will want them.  Freezing her eggs will offer her that chance.
