Brenda's Breast Cancer Fight

Meet our big sister Brenda. She is the oldest of our tribe of seven. Life has thrown a lot of difficulty our way over the years, but God has brought us through them all.
We lost our mom to cancer when she was only 42 years old. Our family was scattered all across the U.S. as we lived with different relatives, followed jobs or education, or served in the military. We grew up far apart by miles, but not in our hearts. Somehow we remained close.
This year we grapple a different kind of difficulty as cancer has come into our lives once again. In August of 2017, Brenda was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer.
Fortunately, Brenda and her husband Joe have medical insurance, but quickly you learn how much it doesn’t cover. The deductibles are large and it seems that each time she walks through another door, there is another payment required.
As her family, we ask for your help. Brenda is a much loved sister, wife, aunt, friend, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loves God, she loves her friends, and she loves her family. And she is a fighter!
Fighting this disease is hard enough, we don’t want to see her worry about how she will make the next payment for her treatments. Now that her chemo treatments have begun, the side effects are making it difficult for her to keep working the job she loves at “Brenda’s Baubles”. We want to raise enough money to pay her insurance deductible for 2017 and 2018.
She will be receiving chemotherapy for the remainder of 2017 and will undergo a full double mastectomy with reconstructive surgery soon thereafter. At that time they will reevaluate and decide if more chemotherapy or radiation is required.
Just yesterday she cut her long, beautiful mane of hair and she sent us a smiling picture. That’s her outlook – she smiles. And she believes. She chooses to fight. She chooses LIFE!
Any donation will be appreciated and will go directly to Brenda to pay for medical treatment.
