Wa'tkwanonhweraton Sewakwekon! Greetings, love and respect to All.

Please help The Aunties Dandelion raise funds to finish our first collaborative film - called VeRONAka. This 11-minute movie provides an engaging story and key insights into our Kanyen'ke:ha (Mohawk) community's response to Covid 19.

Click here  for a one minute trailer for the VeRONAka movie.

We are requesting you help us with funds for the following:

*Paying our talented Director of Photography James (Jimi Sose) Kinistino - who filmed VeRONAka on spec because he believes in the film and the mission of The Aunties Dandelion

*Reimbursing RAVENSUN Media for providing the finish edit for the film - including color grading, audio correction and design and creating beautiful animations for the film

*Securing worldwide music rights in perpetuity

*Creating a marketing package for the film including graphics, posters and advertising

We need these funds right away; we already have clients who are interested in screening the film, and the support means the world to us as we launch The Aunties Dandelion  project through our podcasts and this movie.

THE FILM:
VeRONAka is a fictionalized version of the true story of our clan mothers giving Covid 19 a Mohawk name so that we are able to respect the illness, understand why it is here and then invite it to leave. The main character - VeRONAka - is unleashed by the upheaval in the world and is terrorizing her community.

But she didn't count on the power of the Mohawk Aunties.

The film features an interview with Wa’kerakátste Louise McDonald - the Mohawk Bear Clan clan mother from Akwesasne Territory who named the virus.

Created with all-Indigenous principal cast and crew  on Rotinonhson:ni Territory - VeRONAka is a timely movie and one that will help all of us transform the fear and the chaos in the world. It's also funny.

THE AUNTIES:
The Aunties Dandelion is a relationship-centered collective formed by Dr, Karennaonwe Karen Hill  and Kahstoserakwathe Paulette Moore. The Aunties are rooted in Indigenous familial ways of being in relationship to each other and the natural world.  Our vision is to create and support an expansive human community. The Aunties Dandelion is a media/research center and a transformative space - informed by traditional Onkwehon:we teachings with story sharing and healing narratives at our core.
