Medical Expenses

Annelie has been experiencing financial difficulty due to her husband's sudden onset of Guillain-Barre syndrome. GBS is a disorder in which the body's immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system causing partial and sometimes total paralysis. In Dave's case, paralysis from the waist down, making it impossible for Annelie to care for him at home.

Medicare has maxed out on his nursing care as well as the infusions that Dave needs in order to recover and Annelie is now forced to cover these expenses out-of-pocket which you can guess are astronomical. Although she has been able to move him to a more affordable group home,her expenses are still more than she can handle without financial assistance.
