Phil’s Medical Expenses

A gentle soul , Phil Shepherd, loving husband of Roger Larson for 48 years and my wonderful big brother, died unexpectedly from a ruptured aneurysm in his aorta.  Up until then, Phil was a vibrant, strong, and kind man who lived in Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico.   He was clergy in his spiritual religion, Eckankar, and believed soul is eternal.  He loved life and was always there to help someone else.  He quietly took care of so many people who will miss his loving, unassuming manner.  

Now he needs the help and generous hearts of friends, family, and strangers.

When Phil took ill, the local clinic called for an ambulance and he was taken to Country 2000 Hospital in Guadalajara where he got excellent care from Dr. Ricardo Garcia and his team.  

Unfortunately, Phil had no health insurance, only Medicare that does not cover you outside the USA.  

We would like to pay Dr. Ricardo Garcia and the other doctors what they deserve.  They worked relentlessly and compassionately trying to save Phil while helping the family cope with our shock.  

In Mexico, all medical bills must be paid before they release the body.  These kind, good-hearted doctors went ahead and released it without payment.  They deserved to be paid, but Roger doesn’t have the money. The sooner we can raise the funds, the better, since the bill is already past due.
