YWAM Mission Trip/DTS

Dear family & friends,

I’m excited to be able to share with you the most exciting opportunity I have coming up: I have been accepted to YWAM(Youth With a Mission) Colorado Springs Discipleship Training School April 12th, 2018-September 27th, 2018. YWAM’s mission is to know God and make Him known, and I’m overwhelmingly excited to be able to share with them in this mission.

Disciple Training School(DTS) begins with 12 weeks of intensive discipleship on YWAM Colorado Springs campus. There I will explore a range of topics taught by speakers from all around the world. Each week will take me deeper in my relationship with the Lord, growing my life and character, and equipping me for the adventure of making disciples throughout the nations. Some activities outside of the classroom will include: worship, prayer & intercession, one-on-one discipleship, work duties, small groups, assignments & projects, local outreach and of course….fun & adventure!

After the 12 week lecture phase, we will head off in different teams for a three month outreach into the 10/40 window. The 10/40 window (10 degrees north and 40 degrees north latitude) identifies a section of the world map encompassing anywhere from North Africa, the Middle East, or Asia. Two-thirds of the world's population, more than 4.4 billion people live in the 10/40 Window, 90% of the people living in the 10/40 Window are unevangelized. Eighty-five percent of those living in the 10/40 window are the poorest of the world's poor, and many have never heard the Gospel message. While on outreach, we will show the love and hope of Christ through evangelism and mercy ministries. Some opportunities may include teaching English, working with orphans and widows, serving in refugee camps, anti-human/sex trafficking efforts, and more.

I have been financially blessed to come up with a portion of the funds and now need to raise a remainder $5,000. These funds for the mission will help cover tuition, room and board, meals, required health insurance, and transportation on mission.

Above all else, I would really appreciate your support through prayer, seeing as this will be a much needed time of spiritual growth in my life. I know that this trip is meant to be challenging, and I will need your support throughout the period I am away on mission and before leaving. I am so excited to be headed into this next season of my life and could not be more thankful that God has me where I am.
