Yvette Lumor Memorial Fund

Yvette began her journey, in a small village, in Ghana.  She helped her parents and siblings work the land and care for her fellow villagers.  Life was not easy, but she always made the best of her situation and aspired for more.   One of her sisters entered her in "the lottery", to win approval,  to enter the United States.  She won!  
Yvette arrived in the United States not having much formal education and unable to speak English fluently.  She learned english, studied hard, and earned her GED.  She then took a position as a home health aid, continuing her tradition of caring for people.   Yvette eventually entered nursing school and soon graduated with a BSN, becomming  an RN.  Yvette worked as an RN in New York and Massachusetts.  Wanting more for herself,  Yvette applied for, and gained acceptance to the University of New England's Nurse Anesthesia program.   Yvette rotated through many hospitals, learning the art and science of anesthesia, always being positive and always looking forward to a brighter future.  Along her way to becomming a CRNA, Yvette met her future husband, Brian.  They had a loving and supportive marriage and eventually grew their family to include three beautiful daughters.  Brian is a devoted stay-at-home dad for the girls.
After graduation, Yvette took a position, as a CRNA, at Emerson Hospital,   Yes, we helped train her and now had the joy of working with her on a daily basis.  She had a big smile, boisterous laugh, and a personality that filled the room.   Her skills were second to none, and she was cherished and loved by both her patients and co-workers.  
We all looked forward to years of friendship, laughter and love, with Yvette.  Unfortunately, that was not the plan.  Yvette was unexpectedly taken from all of us just a few days ago.   The grieving is enormous, the void she left even larger.  While we cannot bring her back, we can all show our love and support by helping to care for her family, in any way possible.   This page is set up as a way to give back to Yvette, for all she has done for us.  It is a tribute to a loving person and her beautiful family.  We ask that you be as generous as you can, for her family will need a lot of support during this challenging time.  Thank you to everyone that contributes to this most valuable cause.
