Ukrainian Athletes

Dear friends,

We wanted to express our eternal gratitude for all the help your countries have provided us in our fight against the aggressive enemy. We are forever indebted to you for every life saved and every soldier armed. We are very hopefull that with worldwide support, it is only a matter of time before we defeat the aggressor and regain our lands and lives back. In the meantime, we continue to live and make the best of the current situation, and that includes giving utmost we have to our children. Right now, our biggest concern is the availability of sports we can offer to them.

I am Anna Khlistunova, a two-time European swimming champion and a bronze medalist of the World Swimming Championship, and I am reaching out to you today. I am the director of a swimming pool in the city of Ukraine called Rivne, and a mother of four children. Over the last thirty-three years, many European and World champions were trained and raised in this pool. One of our athletes, whom you may have seen in the recent European Championship in Rome, Mykhailo Romanchuk, trained in this same facility for the silver and bronze medals he won in the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Unfortunately, because of the war, many things have been put on hold, including the reconstruction of our pool that's been planned for a while and is much needed due to safety concerns. There are nearly a thousand kids that attend this pool daily.

Therefore, I ask for your consideration to donate funds in order for us to repair the pool and provide a safe environment for our kids to train in and to further their future achievements. I have no doubt that with your help we will be able to raise the necessary amount and give our kids a fighting chance.
