Yuille Avenue Fires

The residents of Yuille Avenue and Evelyn Avenue in  BUNDANOON, NSW were heavily impacted upon by the fire storm that hit on the afternoon of January fourth. Four homes, several sheds, studios, prized gardens, farm machinery, property fences and numerous century old gum trees were destroyed when Bundanoon was enveloped by a massive pyrocumulus cloud. After its collapse, when the southerly hit, it spewed live embers over many square kilometres of Bundanoon. This created hundreds of spot fires across the town, with our two roads suddenly being the centre of the major fire fronts, with all but two properties forced to evacuate in very dangerous conditions!

Our aim is to support our neighbours in their struggle to rebuild their homes, roads, fences, sheds and land, through raising money to cover the out of pocket expenses associated with rebuilding and  re- establish their lives here in Bundanoon. We are a tight-knit community who desperately want to support our neighbours in the wake of the destructiuon caused by these fires. Additionally, we wish to rebuild the habitats for all our native animals - ringtail possums, kangaroos, wombats, birds of prey, owls, reptiles and bees. 

We sincerely thank you for any donation made towards rebuilding our community. Any excess funds will go directly to the Bundanoon local RFS and the Bundanoon community.
