Family lost everything in a house fire

Hi my name is Nadean and I am fund-raising for my sister who lives in the Illawarra. On Tuesday afternoon my sister went to the kitchen to make lunch when she realised her son was quiet, too quiet, when she went to investigate she felt instant heat and her heart sank. She raced to the bedroom to find her 8 year old autistic son attempting to put out a fire on his bed with his clothes. Turns out he somehow found a candle lighter from a shelf at adult head height. She attempted to put out the flames but it was too late. She grabbed her son and ran. Luckily her other children were at school at the time of the fire and no one was hurt apart from smoke inhalation.

Unfortunately she has lost everything. Escaping with the clothes on their backs. Angela has saved hard to recently purchase some new furniture and to make sure the children never went without after escaping a domestic violence situation and now has to start again.

One of the saddest things about this story is that he has no understanding of what he has done and keeps asking when they can go home.

 

So please dig deep and help raise the funds for this mum to rebuild a home environment for her 12, 8 and 7 year olds who have lost everything they own including the roof over their heads.
