Who are we?

The Junior Design Factory is the first not-for-profit design agency run by dyslexic kids aged 9+. The children work on proposals for real clients, taking the lead roles in design, project management and promotion of their work.

Projects tackled by the children include a new marketing campaign for ‘Seedball’ in London, a recycling marketing campaign which was rolled out by Scarborough Council, and a new range of T-Shirts for ‘Jugglewear’, which was founded by a candidate from the BBC ‘The Apprentice’ show to name a few.  Children also work with a wide variety of creatives such as Jim Rokos, the curator of Dyslexic Design and previously a model-maker for the Muppets Treasure Island, Tomb Raider and the V&A.

"It is a great joy to work with the Junior Design Factory. The workshops are energetic and lively, and the originality of the kids' inventions is impressive each time they react to a brief. It is clear that the staff take pleasure when they see children thrive and grow in self-confidence.” - Jim Rokos

What will they do?

In addition to live design briefs, our young designers also use the time with us to:

• Learn industry standard professional design software to create branding and graphics.

• Mentor others' and create their own design workshops

• Develop their own product design concepts to solve everyday problems.

• Gain contextual design knowledge to give them an understanding of past designs and how these can influence their own work.

What will my donation support?

• Young designers in planning, preparing & delivering x5 live stream workshops allowing children from across the UK to access FREE SEND-friendly creative learning resources

•  Through these live streams we will attract new recruits that will be able to join our Junior Design Factory weekend sessions

• Dedicating team members towards planning, preparation, and delivery of sessions.
