Youth Character-Building Fishing

Donation protected

Chattanooga Dream Builders is an organization established by Cedric Dozier in 2015 for the sole purpose of assisting at risk inner city youth in finding a positive path in life. Chattanooga Dream Builders focal points are to motivate, mentor, and educate.
Chattanooga Dream Builders will be hosting 50 or more kids on a youth fishing trip Saturday October 7, 2017. This is the 2nd annaul fishing trip. While many children are provided the opportunity to fish there are some who don't have the same opportunity. The fishing trip will expose the youth to new experiences while teaching them important life skills and giving them hope. Whether it is tying a knot, setting up and baiting their own rigs, reading depth finders or the fundamentals of catch and release. We will also teach them the techniques of fishing, wildlife preservation and safety.

Chattanooga Dream Builders will be using fishing trips like this to build youths' self-esteem and self-confidence, working to ensure that every child gets an opportunity to experience the thrill of sport fishing and a basic introduction about fishing. I also would like the youth to meet new friends and build a relationship with mentors. Chattanooga Dream Builders are hoping kids from urban areas can learn healthy life habits. We want to teach the kids about fishing, but we also want to teach them about leadership, ethics, and citizenship.

We will have mentors and the Tennessee Department of Fish and Game, teaches casting, knot tying, and fishing skills, and even has a representative from the TDFG teach ecology, water conservation and biodiversity. All this is done in an effort to help the children lead promising lives.

Be the change in Chattanooga, TN. The Chattanooga Dream Builders needs your help in organizing its annual youth fishing trip, which will connect the youth to life-changing skills and constructive tools to inspire change in themselves, their communities and the world. All funds raised will help get fishing poles, bait, hooks, and other fishing items. We will feed all kids and have a speaker as well.

We're seeking to raise $2500 to help achieve this goal of taking our youth fishing for the first time in their lives.
We have a total of 50 or more youth presently enrolled in our program. We will cover snacks, lunch, lake admission fees, fishing rods, bait, and transportation cost.
