The Young Friends of Christiana Care Health System is a group of high school students focused on leadership, philanthropy, and health care to help fund programs that enhance the patient care experience.
We are raising money this year to fund the following programs:
-The First State School gives children and adolescents who would otherwise be homebound with serious illnesses the chance to attend school with their peers while they get the medical treatment they need. Funds will help support the First State School Prom and field trips for students.
-Camp FRESH provides teens with the tools and knowledge they need to grow and flourish, including heart-healthy cooking and meal planning, financial literacy and sexual responsibility. Funding helps support transportation for Camp FRESH participants.
-The Emergency Department Special Needs Fund: patients enter the trauma centers where their clothes are often cut off in order for them to be treated. The Special Needs Fund provides clothing, toiletries and rides home for patients in need.
(Funds will be deposited to the account of Penny Saridakis, Chair of Trustees of Christiana Care and Co-Chair of the Young Friends of Christiana Care. A check will be presented to Christiana Care at the conclusion of GoFundMe campaign.)
