Young father killed, daughters badly injured

This beautiful little family has been broken and needs help to endure after a devastating car crash on May 19th 2020.  The three of them, father Jay Lee, 31, and daughters Mya, 8, and Dallas, 6, were travelling near their home in New Castle, Virginia when a young woman under the influence of alcohol and drugs crossed the center line and hit them in a head on collision.  Jay Lee was killed instantly and Mya was not expected to survive, but she has been strong and has stayed with us. My name is Erin Lacks, from Roanoke VA,  and I am Jay Lee's cousin on his father's side. We were a little over a month apart in age. I have set up this page at the request of my family, including Jay Lee's mother, May Laprade, and his father, Jerry Broughman, to help with all the expenses now and in the future for the care of the girls, especially Mya, and a trust fund.  As you can imagine, this time is difficult enough for Jay Lee's parents and therefore I am happy to be helping them with this fund raiser. I name Jay Lee's mother, May Laprade, beneficiary of this fundraiser and the entire amount of the donations will go to her by way of signing over all money to a bank account for her and the girls, as she will have full physical custody. I wish to claim no amount for myself.   
Both Mya and Dallas have undergone multiple surgeries just to survive this awful catastrophe. Mya has undergone 18 surgeries in a month alone and she is paralyzed from the neck down. Jay Lee's girls were his life; he was a great dad raising his children by himself and always put his girls first. There has been no memorial service for Jay Lee due to the COVID-19 virus, much to the dismay of the family.
The medical bills are thought to already be in the tens of thousands and it is unknown what the cost of continuing care these girls may need, medical and psychiatric, at this early hour. Mya needs her grandmother while she goes through healing out of state, so please, any you can spare will be instrumental in this process, for they will not be able to be together otherwise.  Jay Lee was the only source of income for the girls, and May will need to quit her job to be with Mya now and in the future to stay at home to care for both of the girls.
