In a world that seems to be getting progressively darker there is one beam of light that never seems to diminish.
This light is the mighty JEAN THORPE - a name synonymous with wildlife rehabilitation and a
tour de force when it comes to the rehabilitation of birds of prey that have been mindlessly persecuted.
She is incandescent with rage that this persecution persists, as i know a lot of you are.
Yorkshire continues to be a repeat offender and still holds the title of England's worst county for denying birds of prey their existence.
Help support Jean with her phenomenal work this Christmas by sponsoring bird race teams around Yorkshire - including the York Upstarts who work closely with Jean.
Teams will be taking part in the annual Michael Clegg memorial bird race on the 5th January 2020. The bird race is run in memory of the well known Barnsley naturalist, star of Yorkshire Television’s Clegg’s People and a regular on Radio 4’s Natural History Programmes who sadly passed away in 1995.
Each year teams from birding hotspots throughout the county attempt to see as many species as possible in their recording area within 24 hours.

1 Osprey
1 Marsh harrier
6 Peregrines
7 Tawny Owl
4 Sparrowhawk
14 Barn owls
8 Kestrels
4 Little owls
