The Scottish International Flute Summer School will feature an array of some of the international flute world’s leading instructors. Founded in 1996 by legendary flutists and educators Ruth Morley and Peter Lloyd, this world-renowned flute course offers students the chance to collaborate with and learn from these instructors in a nurturing and inspirational environment designed to help students develop their playing while stretching their creative boundaries. At the same time, these students will have a unique opportunity to expand their cultural horizons by playing and connecting with fellow flutists from around the globe.
More information about Youth Orchestras of Central Virginia: Founded as an outreach program of the Charlottesville Symphony at the University of VA, YOCVA provides a full season symphony orchestra experience for elementary through high school students. YOCVA comprises two symphony orchestras, flute and clarinet ensembles, and a strings feeder program for advanced beginners. Training includes full season weekly rehearsals and three concerts per year. Our students frequently claim highest honors in District, Regional, and State competitions.
