We need your help to keep our women's cultural gathering going!

Our event is an annual event named Yinaar Baawaa Guumaldana and we are in our third year of delivery. This year we have come against some hurdles which may stop us from providing this amazing service to Gomeroi/Gamiliaroi women from across the nation. Our biggest hurdle to date is lack of funds. We have all other resources covered, included confirmation of facilitators, venue, confirmed participants etc.

Let us tell you about the amazing cultural journey our women embark on....
Women return to country to participate in traditional cultural healing led by Gomeroi cultural experts and healers. Historically women gathered for women's business, becoming thereby physically, socially & spiritually connected to one another and their individual purpose.

Women who attend learn culture and participate in traditional healing practices, while strengthening relationships and interconnectedness and building a "sisterhood". This event strengthens cultural expression and revitalisation through physical connection to land, culture and spirituality. We are empowering Gomeroi women and providing the tools to build cultural identity, to understand our cultural stories, songlines, land and practices, and self-healing methods including using traditional bush medicines.

This year our event is planned to be held at Barradine the gateway town to Pilliga NSW. Pilliga is a place of significance for Gomeroi women as it constitutes the centre of our traditional land. Women will be guided on country to identify traditional weaving materials, food and medicine. We will hold ceremony in traditional women's places and camp at Cypress Showground.

We have tried other avenues to raise the funds such as sponsorship and government funding but have been unsuccessful this year in raising the full amount required, therefore we are seeking your help as a last resort. The funds will be used towards accommodation at Cypress Showground, catering, workshop materials and facilitator fees. This year we have had a record breaking number of participants register, with over 100 Gomeroi women looking to embark on a cultural journey.

If you're looking for a way to give-back to revitalising Aboriginal culture and language, support trauma healing, using traditional methods for healing and survival, or just wanting to give to a great cause then this is the fund for you. Any donations as little as $5 is welcome and appreciated, every dollar counts.

Thank you for considering us and taking the time to find out a little bit more about our amazing cultural gathering.
