Fundraiser for Lovepreet and his family
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Gurjot! You can learn a bit more about me here (https://www.youthassembly.org/2022/01/28/gurjot-kaur-singh-canada-youth-assembly-ambassador/). This year on my birthday, I need your help supporting a family in need.
Lovepreet and his family live in Khanna, Punjab, India. Their father passed away recently, leaving Lovepreet's mom alone to support herself and her children. I learnt of Lovepreet and his family through a video posted by BBC Punjabi (https://www.instagram.com/tv/CP9_733nOXR/?utm_medium=copy_link) and contacted them to learn more about their situation. The mother told me that despite the government of Punjab promising monetary support last year, she has not received anything till date. Her son, Lovepreet, sells vegetables in the market to support his family and often skips school to do so. He earns about 4500 INR/76 CAD monthly, the only income they have. I sent them funds a few months back as the mother wanted the eldest daughter to do a beauty parlour course so she could at least do something as they can't afford college fees, which she is now doing. However, they struggle to make ends meet. Thus, I'm raising funds to help them out with the kids' education and/or help with starting a parlour business for the eldest daughter. PLEASE donate if you can. I come across verified cases all the time so for any additional funds, I will donate them there. I came across this elder recently, https://www.instagram.com/tv/Caun4XDlGNP/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link, and I'd love to help him as well. I can send proof of donation to whoever requires it.
Again, I am eternally grateful for your support & am hopeful for it again. Therefore, if you can even contribute $10 and not eat out for one day, you'd be making a huge difference in someone's life.
Thank you <3
