Donation protected
Hi, my name is Hongmei Shao, as a family friend, I am here to raise funds to help Bing's family to cover his funeral and to help his surviving family. Thank you for your generosity in advance. May everyone live a peaceful and loving life, in memory of our Bing.

Yetao Bing immigrated to the United States in 2016 and began working as a technician for a mushroom farm in New Jersey. Last year, he moved to California to help the local mushroom farmers at Terra Garden as a greenhouse control technician. Unfortunately, he was gunned down by a “disgruntled” mushroom farm worker, becoming the youngest victim of the Half Moon Bay mass shooting incident on January 23, 2023.

He is survived by his wife, his daughter and his son, as well as his parents and two older sisters in China. He hasn’t seen his parents in years since covid lockdown. Feb 14 would be his first time going back to China to visit his parents, and it would be the first time the whole family to be reunited along with his 4-year-old daughter who had never been to China to visit her grandparents. With Bing’s father fighting cancer on his own, the passing of Bing would be too hard of a blow for the parents to take.

Bing loved his job, a hard-working honest man, he worked his whole life cultivating mushrooms. Everyone enjoyed working with him and appreciated his help and knowledge. He didn’t talk much, instead, he worked hard making sure every little thing was done right. He was the first one at the greenhouse every morning and the last one to leave. Everyone called him Bing brother because he is always there when you need help. He had the respect of everyone at the farm. Wherever he went, people loved him. Loved his work.

But most important to Bing was his family, and he worked hard for them. He loved them so much. He was so happy when his son was admitted to the university a year ago, and he spoiled his 4-year-old daughter so much. He carried her on his shoulder everywhere he went with her and he would sing… so Happy! The only son to his parents, he loved, cared and supported them, especially after his Dad was diagnosed with cancer 2 years ago.

We will all miss him so much, as a colleague and a friend and as family. We will cherish the memory of him and continue to feel the impact on our life from his love and help for everyone.

In Loving Memory of Bing, Yetao, One of our own.

The donation is to help his family deal with funeral expenses and future funds for his kid's education and his parents for whom he cared so much.
