Nina is losing her battle

Donation protected
Hi my name is Tracy McClellan. Nina’s Dad is Mike McClellan. Mike and I were Foster/Adoption parents for 25 years. Fifteen of them, were chronic/terminal cases. Our last two have aged out of the system. Which means we still care for them but the state is now only providing Medicaid coverage. Nina does receive a waiver that provides funds to have an Aide to help care for her which is a key component to remain living in her home. Seven years ago my husband was let go from his former employer for health concerns (Heart). We have been living off a lot of that retirement package. Now it’s depleted. In June, I started job searching trying to find something that would work with Nina’s schedule. It had been 7 years since Nina’s last hospital admission so thought it would be doable. NOT!!! On July 2nd, Nina took ill and has had one thing after another happen. After 2 months in the hospital at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center we got to go home for 25 days. Now she is back fighting for her life. Friday morning September 30 trauma surgeons did emergency surgery to try to save her life. Her bowels started dying rapidly. It’s been a long 3 part series. Her stomach is finally repaired and closed after 3rd surgery on Monday Oct3rd. Nina has finally woken up and responding appropriately. That’s a praise!! The doctors have told us there are a lot of hurdles and potential secondary set backs. Currently, she has fluid on her lungs. So far everything is going as planned. She is doing very well for what she has been through. The doctors are predicting a 1-2 month hospital stay. I say one day at a time Nina’s Aide is paid through the Michelle P Waiver Funds. When you don’t work you don’t get paid. Can’t work while in hospital it’s considered double dipping. They do not offer benefits and that means “NO” unemployment. Special circumstances were amended through December 2022 but only if COVID related. In July we did a fundraiser to cover 2 months and Man O’ Man did you respond. We had enough to cover bills to the last penny. We are asking if you will please help us again? This will cover bills, a little food, and gas. Cards you also sent helped beyond. Gifts of love can be sent to our address in Richmond, KY 40475 we also have cash apps set up for Venmo, And PayPal. Any questions or concerns of legitimacy you can contact our church Redhouse Baptist Church in Richmond, KY [phone redacted] Sincerely Tracy McClellan Loving Father, I come to you today with grateful thanks for the gifts and promises that so readily stream in my direction from you. So often Lord my foolish heart is filled with worry and anxiety and I find myself looking at the problem of my supply instead of looking to You as my generous Supplier. Please forgive this lack of trust in you, for I know that You have promised to supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory, for which I thank and praise You. Amen
