Y.C. Hong Trailer
I am raising money to fund a documentary on Chinese American pioneer Y.C. Hong. After graduating from USC in 1924, he became one of the first Chinese lawyers in the country and the first Chinese immigration attorney in California. Despite humble beginnings and being only four foot six, Y.C. became a national civil rights leader and devoted his life to fighting racist immigration laws like the Chinese Exclusion Act.
The money will go to pay for travel, research, camera equipment, and editing.
I have started the project and plan to have it completed in six months.
Your support reinforces my belief that these little known stories of Asian American pioneers need to be told and shared. That future generations won't take U.S. citizenship for granted and understand the history of Chinese immigration to America.
For every donation of $50 or more will get your name on the closing credits.
