Craig&Kat's moving/transition fund

Our good friend and colleague, Martha Hahn, was taken from us suddenly last week. Martha was a PhD candidate at the Colorado School of Mines, and was presenting her research at a national conference when she collapsed. We will miss Martha’s vision for advancing water reclamation and resource recovery from wastewater and her willingness to collaborate with, and support, her team and colleagues. Her family is shocked and decimated by their loss, and our prayers and thoughts are with them during this time of grieving and transition. We, her fellow students at the Colorado School of Mines, are reaching out to her larger community inviting you to join us in supporting her family during this difficult time.

Martha’s family was in the process of moving to a new home when this tragedy struck. With the sale of their home complete, the date for vacating their home was set at October 18th. Although packing had begun, her husband, Craig, and their niece, Kat, are left to complete their move before October 18th. As you can imagine, the difficulty of this task is daunting to Craig and Kat, and involves many mundane tasks in addition to the monumental task of starting a new phase of life in the wake of their loss.

We are raising money to help Craig and Kat hire professional movers to help complete the move and to provide funds for the endless small expenses that arise during a home move. We know that family, friends, and colleagues will be here to support them during this time, and hope that you’ll join us in relieving some of the stress that can arise from the multitude of expenses that accrue during these tasks.
