BlackDVM Network and the National Association for Black Veterinarians are joining forces to further our missions of supporting current and aspiring veterinary professionals through community service for Black History Month. Please join us in GIVING BACK to Companions and Animals for Reform and Equity.
The mission at CARE is to address organizational and personal biases within Animal Welfare. To bring diverse voices to Animal Welfare while also advocating for a more inclusive path to pet adoption. To use evidence-based tools, narratives and insights to inspire organizations to be more inclusive and less biased. All in an effort to save more companion animal lives.
CARE believes this effort is the defining challenge for the Animal Welfare field, one that currently limits the potential to save more lives, increase support, improve decision-making, and enrich communities of color.
Did you know? There is a 20% adoption gap between White Americans and African-Americans.
CARE focuses specifically on the role that research, training, workforce development and narratives can play in elevating marginalized voices, shifting mindsets, and cultivating inclusive and equitable cultures.
CARE is assisting future leaders with the support they need through awareness, access and funds for Veterinary school. All of these (Go FundMe) funds will going towards the Dr. Jodie G Blackwell scholarship fund.
