Please let us present you to our son Yannick.
Yannick is a 7 years old young boy that you will love getting a smile out of.
At the young age of 6 months, we received devastating news that this energetic, cheerful baby was diagnosed with a non-reversible brain malformation called Lissencephaly (pachygyria):
Mostly meaning "smooth-brain", with the absence of convulsion on the brain, Yannick is now facing a life time challenge regarding his personal health care, motor skill, global developmental delay and this includes:
Severe Epilepsy
cortical visual impairment
major lack of motor skill
tube feeding
low muscle tone
wheel chair dependent
low immune system
shorter life expectancy
These are some of the few of his personal daily challenges.
We, as parents and sibling (his older sister), currently facing many other challenges going from high stress to full emotional, mood swings etc.
Happily we let love dictate our lives and let us be inspired for tomorrow.
Yannick is greatly supported throughout the community child support with various therapies.
Yannick being in grade 2 had to unfortunately take a three month break due to his recent left hip Osteotomy orthopedic surgery.
His complex care has now suddenly changed. Our little family doing as much as we can to support our needs through loans and already given child support,
However our little man’s severe disability adaptation needs became more important that we have to improvise in any sort of charity funding.
Every day, he is being transported in his handy dandy wheelchair, the problem is, our house isn’t exactly disability familiarized, because Yannick is growing up and he’ll need much more space for his care and that he could be more included in home activities.
The cost of disability adaptations are very expensive, as our personal resources are diminishing and Yannick needs expanding , from bathroom redesign to door enlargement, ceiling lift structure preparation, main common living area to be remodeled to ease wheel chair manipulation around the dwelling,
