Yanaq Quispe-Campbell (11) has been battling leukemia. In November, he was struggling to breathe and keep up during soccer. They visited the doctor and that is when he was diagnosed. With the aid of his brother, Josef, he has recently (5/17) undergone a bone marrow transplant. They estimate that he and members of his family will spend 6 weeks in the hospital or traveling to and from. He will then spend an additional 2-3 months in Ann Arbor, healing. As you can imagine the whole family is putting life on hold in order to give Yanaq the care and support he needs. His Mom, Jackie Quispe-Campbell, does not leave his side. The family of ten is selling their current house in order to downsize and keep their heads above water so they can pay for the credit cards that they have been using for daily living. Yanaq’s Dad, Hermo Quispe senior, has been working non-stop getting a place ready for him to come home to when he is released. They have many family members and community members praying for his recovery. His entire extended family, including Uncle Joe Campbell (Lisa Nash), Aunt Judy Campbell, and Aunt Jenny Campbell-Nagle (Lisa Nagle) have pitched in with help, love and support as well.
We share all of this with you in hopes that you might be able to help too.
Prayers of healing are more than needed but if you can provide financial help as well, please join us as we lift this family up during this journey. Join Yanaq's Defenders as we GO FOR GOAL!
