The non-profit organizations Colombian Leaders in Charlotte (LCC); All4One Foundation; Colombo American Foundation, Inc (COAMFO); Festival Colombiano Foundation; Charlotte-North Carolina Colombian Association (ASOCO-NC); Charlotte's Patriotic and Traditions Committee (CFPTC); and Latinas in Charlotte are looking for you support to help the family of 19-year-old Yamile Alejandra Giraldo Gomez who was murdered in the city of Charlotte, NC on December 23rd 2023. Her life was taken by her former partner and father of her son who is already in state’s custody since they don’t have any immediate relatives here in the U.S.
The purpose of this campaign is to help pay the expenses to repatriate her body to Medellin, Colombia; as well as to provide financial support to Mr. Nelson de Jesus Giraldo Galeano, father of the victim, to cover his arrangements to travel to the United States and legally obtain the custody of his daughter’s son to bring him back to Colombia.
As immigrants and human beings, we should help each other people in need and especially when tragedies like this hit our community, anything would help, and we appreciate your help with anything your heart guide you to.

Su vida fue tomada por su ex pareja y padre de su hijo quien ya se encuentra bajo custodia del estado ya que no tienen familiares inmediatos aquí en los Estados Unidos.
El propósito de esta campaña es ayudar a pagar los gastos para repatriar su cuerpo a Medellín, Colombia; así como proporcionar apoyo financiero al Sr. Nelson de Jesús Giraldo Galeano, padre de la víctima, para cubrir sus arreglos para viajar a los Estados Unidos y obtener legalmente la custodia del hijo de su hija para traerlo de vuelta a Colombia.
