My sister was 38 weeks pregnant when, on January 30th, 2015, her world was shattered by the death of her husband, Scott.

Only four days later, still reeling from the loss, she welcomed their son into the world. A beautiful and healthy baby boy, Christian was the third child that she and Scott had wished and prayed for. The physical pain of labor and child birth could not have compared to the emotional anguish, knowing Christian would never get to meet his daddy.

Scott spent many years working in community programming but in early 2014 took on the role of stay at home dad to 14 yr old Jaedyn and 3 yr old Zander. Scott’s days were spent creating a world of joy for their 3 year old and evenings were spent working as a contracted voice actor.

Kimberley is a self-employed professional photographer who works on location in clients' homes. She spends a fair amount of time traveling between towns in the Lakeland area of North East Alberta. Realizing she must get back to work as she is now the only source of income for her little family, she also faces the reality that Scott’s death leaves her on her own to care for the children.

The most effective solution would be to transform the basement of their house into a photography studio, allowing her to work from home. We are hoping to raise $5,000 to help cover some of the costs of labor, materials, permits etc. The project is estimated to cost $15,000, but anything beyond the initial goal will be an extra blessing.

I will provide before photos as soon as I can, and hopefully some lovely "afters" in the near future!
