We are bringing Bald Eagle Nest Cameras to Ohio and we need your help!

The group Kindness & Justice Eastlake Eagles Facebook Page (K&J), The American Eagle Foundation (AEF) and the City of Eastlake, Ohio have partnered together to bring live streaming cameras to the Bald Eagle nest of Kindness & Justice at Bruce Yee Park in Eastlake, Ohio.

The partnership consists of the following:

K&J will fundraise to cover the costs of the nest cameras and all associated equipment along with future maintenance. 

AEF will then purchase and install the equipment next year after the nesting season has ended and the eagles have left the nest.  AEF will provide live streaming video of the eagle nest using crisp 4k technology and provide a space on their current website dedicated to the Kindness & Justice nest. Here viewers will be able to watch the live activity of the nesting pair and their eaglets as well as chat with fellow viewers. The nest will be viewable literally from anywhere the world!

Our goal is to raise the money by or before June 2020 in order to give the AEF time to purchase equipment and schedule the installation.

This is an extraordinary opportunity for this part of the country to become part of The American Eagle Foundation family.  This will be the 5th bald eagle nest that AEF sponsors. We look forward to seeing Kindness & Justice our nations symbol, bring continued joy and education throughout the world!

                                                     Meet Kindness & Justice                                                                                                                           
The Bruce Yee nest started being constructed in the fall of 2016.  The discovery of the nest brought eagle enthusiasts from all over to view this majestic pair, aptly named Kindness & Justice.  These eagles are perhaps the most recognized and photographed eagles in the country.  We are blessed that they have built their nest just a stones throw away from Lake Erie and the Chagrin River.  Enthusiasts have also become advocates for the pair as they document their life in pictures and video, not just during nesting season but throughout the entire year.  Kindness & Justice can usually be seen fishing early mornings on Lake Erie and some days spending their day on the breakwall with their offspring Jefferson & Freedom.  While it is beautiful to spot one of the eagles soaring through the sky, it is even more beautiful to follow the magnificent documentation of the birds on Facebook. 

While we are blessed to be so close to this pair and to have such documentation from their advocates, imagine if we could follow their entire nesting season.  The days of watching that nest and hoping to see a little eaglet head pop-up could be replaced with watching the eggs being laid and the eaglets hatching. Imagine the education and joy this would bring not only watching the day to day activities but also watching that glorious day when the eaglets take their first flight!

Nesting Activities

2016       Nest building started in fall 

2017       First eggs were laid but were not viable

2018       2 beautiful eaglets were born and fledged the nest healthy    and strong!  The eaglets can still be spotted along the Lake Erie shores and the Chagrin River fishing and sometimes hanging out with their parents!

2019      An eagle intruder interrupted the incubation of the eggs while one eagle was out fishing and the other was incubating the eggs.  The eagle had to eventually leave the nest to defend itself.  This went on several different times throughout the week and unfortunately no young survived.

2020      we are beyond hopeful for a new batch of babies to take to the skies!

2021    WE WATCH OUR EAGLES FROM THE COMFORT OF OUR    LIVING ROOMS!!!!
