Saving Charlie

On Saturday night Michael and I witnessed Charlie get hit by a car. The car drove off so we stopped to care for him. We could tell he had some severe injuries as he couldn't use his hind legs. In self-preservation, he scooted to the side of the road to protect himself from any other cars.

Luckily we were close to home so Michael ran home and got some supplies while I stayed with the little guy. We were able to get him to the shelter where he has been staying, only being given pain meds, until today. It wasn't until Sunday that we found out he is a 7-month-old terrier mix. He's just a puppy!

They wouldn't release him to us until yesterday so the moment we were able to get him (today), Michael ran over and adopted him.

We are so excited to have him in our care!

However, he has a long road ahead of him. He will be having surgery tomorrow (8/24/2018) to help with his fractured pelvis. He will need a plate to help correct the damage.

We are working with a non-profit veterinary team to get him help. However, we could use any help from you to get him cared for.

The surgery is quoted as $1500 so we are asking for that to at least give him the ability to be mobile again. If, by chance, we are able to get more funds, we will put it towards any physical therapy he may need, unforeseen future surgeries and other general care. 100% of the money raised will go straight to helping this little guy have a happy, fulfilled life.

We've only had Charlie in our life for a few days but the moment we saw him we knew he needed us to fight for him. We've been in daily contact with the shelter and other rescues to make sure he is given a chance to live.
