Help BEN Beat Cancer!

Donation protected
There is never a good time to find out that you have cancer. But when you're 35 years old, have a wife and two young children, and just finished school to begin your dream career, this kind of news is utterly shocking and devastating.

Throughout the last few months, Ben has suffered with debilitating gastrointestinal pain that he assumed was caused by stress and possibly an ulcer.  Ben has lost more than 25 lbs and has been unable to eat a regular solid food diet. This past week, after having a scope with a GI doctor, biopsy and a follow up CT scan, Ben was told that he has cancer in his esophagus, liver, and lymph node. Gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma, "advanced".  There's no rhyme or reason to explain why this is happening to him - no family history.

So far they have met with one oncologist, who has some ideas for treatment but all of it is going to be very expensive. The side effects of chemo drugs & radiation may make Ben sicker and unable to work, resulting in more lost income. He has an upcoming appointment with a Radiation Oncologist & will probably be getting a feeding tube as soon as possible. He will also be meeting with an Oncologist who specializes in this type of cancer. Ben & Autumn are hopeful these specialists can guide them in the right direction, but, again - all of this type of medical treatment is SO costly.

During all of this, Ben has continued to work as much as he can, providing physical therapy treatment to home health patients. He has always been a 100% dedicated and devoted Dad and husband. He volunteers at his church, runs marathons, and is a supportive, kind, and generous  friend.

I have known Autumn & Ben since 2015 and have been constantly inspired by their faithfulness and hard work in living out their values and beliefs. Ben has committed the past few years to studying & completing physical therapist assistant school so that their family could achieve more independence and stability. He just reached that goal this past fall and was looking forward to a career doing what he loved. Because of Covid-19 hiring freezes, it has been impossible to find a stable permanent position with a clinic. Unfortunately, Ben is currently without any kind of health insurance. As we all know, medical care in this country is exorbitantly expensive, and this cancer will require the best doctors & treatments that Houston has to offer.

Ben, Autumn, Thaddeus, and Azariah all need support right now. During a crisis like this, the last thing they should have to worry about is paying for groceries or gas or medical bills. They need to be able to immediately pursue whatever cutting-edge treatment is available for Ben's cancer, regardless of cost. We need to help Ben LIVE. Please give whatever you can; EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR  makes it possible for the Seifrieds to have the freedom to do everything they can for Ben to beat this. And most of all, please pray constantly for healing, courage, and peace!
