Help Darren Heal

Recently Darren Gray noticed unusual bruising on his body. After a trip to the doctor and a referral to a blood specialist he has been diagnosed with aplastic anemia, a rare and extremely serious disorder that results when the marrow fails to produce blood cells. The medical community does not know the cause of most cases and Darren's doctors are working to find out why.

The extent of Darren's treatment depends on several different factors including how his body reacts to medication and the availability of a matching bone marrow donor. In the case of aplastic anemia inadequate blood production is supplemented temporarily with blood transfusions and marrow stimulating drug therapies. Infection is also a concern as drugs that suppress the  body's immune system may be helpful in treating the disorder. 

Darren will not be able to work during treatment or for an undetermined extended amount of time afterwards depending on recovery and risk of infection.  He will also have to be away from his wife and 4 kids during treatment.

Any donation you can make will greatly help the Grays with medical expenses and living expenses while Darren heals.
