Handcycle for Wounded Army Veteran
Donation protected
I am trying to raise money for the purchase of an Invacare TopEnd handcycle that is competition worthy. I was wounded in Afghanistan, July 2010 in which I lost my right leg above knee. This handcycle would allow me to get my cardio back in shape and compete in regional 5k and 10k races where other wounded warriors do the same. Getting back into competition would do wonders for morale and my physical health. There is little an above knee amputee can do in terms of cardio besides one or two gym machines, nothing for outside use besides one of these handcycles. I just don't have the money to buy one at the moment. The specific model i'm aiming for is the Invacare Top End Force RX starting at $6,645 which is designed with competition in mind. The other model I could get is the Invacare Top End Force 3 which starts at $2,995.00 before options such as gears, tire and wheel packages and fork/frame adjustments. All of the information can be found at
Invacare Handcycles website . All donations are welcome and appreciated so thank you in advance. Following the purchase of the handcycle, I will be sure to post pics of the bike in competitions with fellow wounded warriors and future cardio days as I plan to take this summer to get back in shape. Out of the round shape and into the Mount Rushmore chisled shape. So once again, thank you for your time and help.
