Mensim has a disease with a very complex name - sclerosing cholangitis and acute chronic cholecystitis - these words turned Mensim's life upside down. Сholangitis is a liver disease characterized by liver duct dis-functioning which eventually leads to liver failure.
It first started in late 2019, but the rarity of this disease made it very difficult for the doctors to properly diagnose. Eventually in May 2020 in critical condition he had to go through a surgery and doctors finally established the diagnosis realising how serious the condition was.
At that point the notion that "life is short" became very apparent for Mensim. Those who have been blessed to reach their late 20's believe that life still lies ahead - not for Mensim, but there is hope that we can change that.
He currently has external drainage from his liver with the left side of his liver is mostly damaged, and the disease keeps progressing.
Urgent liver transplantation is required before his liver fails completely.
The surgery alone costs 50,000 AZN and an extra 20,000 AZN is needed for recovery procedures. He has not been able to work since February, has already exhausted his saving and help from his family and friends.
