Support for Wayne & His Kids During a Challenging Time

Hello everyone, my name is Wayne and I’m a proud father of three amazing kids. The past few years have been full of challenges, but the last several weeks have been particularly tough for my little ones.

At the beginning of the school year, things were going great—my kids were settling in, school was going well for them, and I had even enrolled in courses to start a new career path. Unfortunately, life had other plans. We faced a series of setbacks, from my children battling pneumonia and the norovirus back-to-back, to unexpected job opportunity losses and now even worse..

Just a few weeks ago, my daughter broke her arm at school and last week, my son suffered a serious injuring where his finger was nearly severed, requiring a seven-hour surgery that involved reconstructing arteries and veins from his forearm. He now faces a long road of recovery, including potential additional surgeries and physiotherapy.

This all has caused both households financial hardship with gas to and from LHSC and having to take Ubers to get back and forth myself plus food while we are there.

Reaching out for support is not easy—but I know the strength of friends, family, and the community.
