Help Winter Walk Again

Hi, my name is Becky, & I am the manager at the Edison Animal Shelter located in Edison NJ. I have created this go fund me to raise money to help Winter, a 4 yr old pitbull who was thrown out of a car.

 

 

 

Winter's Story:

 

On Friday, January 21st, 2022, a group of construction workers witnessed a truck pull into a park, throw a pitbull out, and drive away. One of the workers picked her up and brought her into our shelter, where we discovered she was unable to move/use her hind limbs. We instantly rushed her over to Garden State Veterinarian for evaluation.

 

 

Pain medications were immediately administered, and as soon as winter was comfortable Xrays were performed to rule out any broken bones. We know that Winter is paralyzed in her back legs, likely due to a slipped disc in her back. Due to the lack of other wounds, lacerations, and markings, our vet is pretty confident that Winter was not hit by a car nor hit by her owner. However, we may never know the truth about what truly happened to her.

 

 

Although she can not move her hind legs, she still responds to deep pain and has good anal tone, which is a promising sign. She was transported to garden State's main office to be evaluated by their neurologist. She is scheduled for an MRI, which wil help answer some of our questions. After that, she will go into surgery to help her walk again.

 

 

Her MRI & Surgery is estimated to cost between $10k to $12k on top of the medical bills she has already accumulated. Please consider donating to this sweet girl. Although we do not know what she has been through in the past, we are sure we can make her life better moving forward!
