Please help us save our home?

This is the hardest thing for us to do - neither of us were brought up to air our problems publicly or to ask for help - but we have been so humbled by our circumstances and are now about to lose the home we've all worked so hard to keep, that we feel we have no option but to reach out to our friends, colleagues, and loved ones, in the hope that they will lift us through generosity of spirit, even in some small way.  Members of my professional community reached out to help a few months back due to the kind intervention of a colleague and friend, which bought us these few extra months, and I am so grateful to them. We do not *expect* anything (especially if you have already helped us), but if you are able to help in some way, no matter how small, we would be eternally grateful. 

When our son and daughter-in-law were rear-ended from a truck a few years ago, just one block from our home, everything changed for us.  They were trying to build their business and get out there to play shows (they are *amazingly* talented musicians and songwriters), and bringing in money, and that all ended.  They still have physical issues, and have only now been able to launch their full-scale recording and production studio. 

We slowly grew more and more behind, until every month it's one financial emergency after another - to buy food, to keep the gas & electric on, to keep our Internet on (as my job as a scopist/transcriptionist for court reporters depends entirely on it to be able to work), etc. , and we grew further and further behind with the mortgage and taxes.  Gerry has been working a full-time job, picking up as many double shifts as he can, plus working part-time.  I work 12-16-hour days, and because of my physical limitations due to diabetic neuropathy, am now doing half the amount of work but taking three times longer to do it.   Our bodies are broken and our spirits are slowly breaking as well.

The bank is no longer willing to work with us unless we can come current for $3,000 by the time we meet with them next week.  Our parents have been so wonderful to us, but all four are going through medical issues and stresses of their own, so we do NOT want them to know the trouble we're in, and would ask you to please keep this confidential if you know them.  They have truly helped us all they can.

We believe in our son and daughter-in-law's talents, and know they can make a go of their business if we can hang on here.  In January, I will be able to get onto Gerry's health insurance, which will save us close to the amount of a monthly mortgage payment.  We just have to hang on until then, and have faith that we can. 

Lastly, I'd like to add that without my husband's and kids' strength, I would not be standing right now.  Gerry has come through so much in his life, and many days are still a struggle for him ... yet he is working himself into physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion for us.  My daughter-in-law manages our home, does all the cooking and cleaning and takes care of me on days I can't even get down the stairs.  My son has been working through the night to get his business up and running, and is always there to dry my tears (which never seem to stop).  

Despite all this, we know that we are very blessed to have each other.  We are a praying family, and that strength has somehow gotten us through no matter what we have faced ... so whether or not you're able to help financially, your prayers - or positive thoughts and energy if you're not a praying person - are appreciated.  We are grateful for every single one of you, and we thank you for listening.   <3 <3 <3
