Spa Bags for Critically-Ill Teens

Dear friends and family,
I will be becoming a Bat Mitzvah in early May. In honor of this milestone, I’m working on completing my mitzvah project. I will be creating spa packages for critically-ill tween and teen girls in the hospital, through the organization Friends of Karen. I learned about Friends Of Karen at a local volunteer fair. They help and support critically-ill children and their families. Their social workers ensure that these families get the emotional support, financial assistance and guidance they need to cope during a crisis that affects every member of the family. I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate this organization. I visited Friends of Karen and I felt like a part of the team. I was overwhelmed by everything they do for these kids and their families, and how much hard work it takes.
It is an honor to be doing something for this fantastic organization, and I ask you to help. The spa bags I’m putting together will help tween and teen girls in the hospital feel more comfortable, beautiful, and special. Some of the items I am planning to put in the bags are moisturizers, lip balms, colorful nail polishes, fuzzy socks, lip glosses, eye masks, and moisturizing socks. These items will brighten the girls days, and that is the main goal of the project.
I estimate that each bag will cost about $20. The more money I raise, the more critically-ill teenagers I can make feel beautiful. I hope my friends and family consider donating to this special cause. Thank you!
