A Humble Plea

Donation protected
I find myself in a very humbling and embarrassing position. Some time ago, due to an unfortunate mistake I made, my SSDI benefits were discontinued. The process to reinstate them is lengthy and difficult, and in the time since then, I have gone through all of my savings. I am on the very verge of losing my home and I contemplated what, to many people, might seem drastic or unthinkable. I confided in a few online friends (to say goodbye, really) and, as if a prayer had been answered, one of them, Mike Adams, came to my rescue and literally saved my life by contacting his friends and mine to raise enough money to give me a new lease on life. His efforts on my behalf and those of the people he contacted have been nothing short of miraculous and I only wish that I could sufficiently express my gratitude to him and them. There are too many people to list but I am so very grateful to all of them and forever in  their debt.

Still, I find myself in need and in the very humbling position of asking for even more help to continue to pay bills until SSDI is reinstated.

In better times I have helped others by giving them vehicles, monetary gifts, loans that I didn't expect to be repaid (luckily for me, lol), etc. So, maybe it's OK to ask for some help in return (although it certainly feels uncomfortable doing so).

To cut down on expenses, I have turned in my license plates and canceled my car insurance, turned off the hot water heater, and even unplugged the fridge. I even gave up my beloved kitty to a good home (where she is now able to play with her two adorable daughters). So, any money generously donated would only be used for the bare essentials. Mainly, to pay my lot rent so I'm not evicted and rendered homeless.

If you can donate, that would be wonderful and appreciated more than I can say. If money isn't an option thoughts and prayers would be sincerely appreciated. Those are the gateways to miracles.

Spreading the word would be a great help, as well. If you are willing to post my page on Facebook or twitter I would sincerely appreciate that. I don't belong to either.

I know that there are people worse off than me who have struggled and overcome even more dire situations. I know that my situation is partially of my own making. I am enbarrassed to be where I am and to be asking for help. My hope, and my promise, is to work on behalf of someone else when my situation improves.

If you would like to know of my situation in greater detail, ask me anything, or just talk privately, feel free to ask for my email address. Any support is greatly and sincerely appreciated and just talking with people helps a lot.

Thank you for your consideration and for taking the time to read my plea and to consider it.

Humbly,

Dave M.
