Ellie Strong
Some of you have followed Ellie's story battling a congenital disorder, but for some of you who don't know here is a little background about this beautiful little girl's condition. Ellie has been through so much in her short life. At 20 weeks Pat and Katelyn found out Ellie has hydrocephalus. They knew it would be a harder road but Ellie has proven to be a fighter from the beginning.
Ellie was poked and prodded from the time she was born, and has had multiple hospital visits. A NICU stay, countless MRIs, emergency room visits, neurosurgery and neurology specialists, EEG’s for suspected seizures, and weekly doctors appointments to track head growth. All leading up to Ellie’s first brain surgery this week for an ETV procedure to decrease pressure placed on her brain by extra fluid.
Ellarae is recovering from surgery in the PICU unit of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia at this time. Although surgery was successful (thankfully!), she is experiencing a few unexpected obstacles that are non-neuro related that require extra attention at this time. Insurance only covers so much and I would love to be able to come together and help the Neary family as much as possible!
I want them to only focus on Ellie and her recovery. Ellie is a warrior and surrounded by so much love. I'm not expecting this to be able to pay all their medical debt, but anything that can help them stay with Ellie even a couple more days during her recovery will be amazing. Any stress we can take away from this family will be so greatly appreciated. You’re all amazing
