Medical bills and medical credentials

Some sudden reverses recently happened to me; this is my way of asking you and the Universe for help. I will help you when I'm back on my feet...that's as it should be. "We can do no great things; we can only do small things with great love." -Mother Teresa

I have been laid off and on leave for 18 months; my employer cancelled my insurance as a cost-cutting measure one month before I was hospitalized for cellulitis in my calf and a clotting disorder. Now I owe about $90,000 in medical bills, and the amount is increasing as I continue to get care. I made $1900 too much last year to qualify for Medi-Cal and food stamps (I made $16,000). I had a few months' income saved, but not 18 months.

I'd like to share what financial solvency means to me:

1. Integrity around money and spending 

2. Living within my means while taking good care of myself and my loved ones

3. Doing meaningful work 

4. Having enough to pay my bills, eat in a healthy way, save a bit, and have enough left over to be mindful of and to help those who are in a pickle 

I am job-hunting and have been for months. I need a medical credential to position myself better for a technical medical job in a growing area of medicine (medical coding, CCS credential). The program is online at CSU East Bay. The courses, huge textbooks, testing fees, and credential exams are expensive, but it's what I need to do next.

You aren't seeing this page because I want money from you. Help doesn't come in any one form, and most people reading this are "squeaking by," if my guess is correct.
