Adams Flood Recovery

Donation protected
Our kids, Lane and Kara Adams just recently purchased their first home at the end of May, just a week before getting married. In the last month, they have experienced not only one, but two floods that have caused significant loss to their home, cars and personal items. They do have homeowner's insurance but it DOES NOT cover any damage caused by flash flooding since they are not in a flood plain. After the first flood, they had to tear out all the flooring and wood work in their house but after days of drying, were able to once again reside in their home. Now after the second flood just three weeks after the first flood, they now have a total loss of their drywall, insulation, most major appliances, doors, garage doors, kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities and this doesn't include further major loss that they have yet to inquire. It is no longer in living conditions. And as if that wasn't enough, both vehicles, one being a newly purchased car, are now totaled due to the flooding. They also have suffered great loss with their own personal items, including all of their furniture, brand new wedding gifts and personal, sentimental items that have no monetary value like pictures, cards, memorabilia and personalized gifts from grandparents who have since passed away. Sadly, Kara and Lane had kept these precious items in totes for safe keeping, but due to the immense amount of water in their home, the totes were tipped over and many of the contents of these totes had water damage or were completely ruined. At this time, Kara and Lane are residing in my house (Tonya's) while they begin the long road ahead of rebuilding their future. These two have kept their chins up and had such a great attitude during this devastating time, but no couple should have to go through such great tests so early on in their marriage. Many people have asked how they can help these young newlyweds. At this time, it will be a slow process, but any donations would be greatly appreciated to help get these two back on there feet. No newlywed couple wants to live with their parents/in-laws.
