House Fire Recovery Fund

Don protégé
On the morning of March 24, 2020, Emily and Brett awoke to what they thought was someone breaking into the house. This turned out to be a neighbor and a PSE&G worker alerting them to a fire in the upstairs apartment. Fortunately, and largely thanks to these men, everyone (dogs included) got out of the house safely, and the resident upstairs was not home.

Less fortunately, their home and most of their belongings were destroyed.

Clearly this would be a trying time for them in any case, but both Brett and Emily work in the restaurant industry, and thus are out of work in the wake of COVID-19. They are both hesitant to ask for help knowing that others are facing financial hardship as well, but if you are in the position to help, I know it would go a long way in getting them back on their feet and softening the blow of losing so much.

I would like to deeply thank anyone who donates, as well as the two men (Joe and Tom) who bravely and selflessly ran into a burning building to get my sister and her boyfriend to safety, and the firefighters and police officers who helped to keep everyone safe and recover what they could from the home.
