Caring for Cash

I never thought I’d find myself seeking crowd funding for anything but here I am because 11 years ago I made a promise to Cash. That promise was that I would love, protect, and keep him safe for his
entire life. Part of loving him is bringing him to the vet when anything suspicious pops up that could be cause for concern. After developing a slight cough on July
17th we decided that he should be
examined since he was due for a routine wellness visit anyway. Due to covid, I was waiting in my car when it was revealed that he has cancer that has metastasized in his lungs. A radiologist later confirmed their assumptions but also noted that a fungal infection could not be ruled out. Wanting to cover all of our bases I brought him somewhere else the next day to find out how we can rule out a fungal infection before we proceed. They were able to gather a urine sample to be sent off in order to make sure he is being properly treated. Both Vets agreed the fungal infection is unlikely so our next step is going to be locating the source of the cancer that has spread to his lungs. He will have an abdominal ultrasound that will hopefully pinpoint the location so we can move forward with treatment. He won’t be able to have surgery since it’s too dangerous due to his lungs but we can provide treatments to keep him as comfortable as possible throughout the remainder of his life.
We were blindsided by this diagnosis.
Cash has so much life left in him. He is not your typical 11 year old large breed dog. He jumps on me to go for walks on the paths surrounding our home. He still enjoys food more than anything else on the world. (So do I!)
He loves his family, his fur sibling, car rides, wooded trails, but most of all, he loves peanut butter.
This process just began and our bills have been $1188 & $562. We can expect two more large bills for his abdominal ultrasound the 25tj and his initial appoint July 29th with an internal medicine team.
Unfortunately, these are just the start before we factor in an actual treatment plan.
There is nothing I wouldn’t do for Cash. I am here swallowing my pride with tears streaming down my face to ask for any donation to help us provide the best care possible for our big bear. My father talked me into setting one of these up to help us afford his care.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading this , sharing, and if you’re able to, donating.
100 % of the proceeds with go towards caring for Cash.
With love,
Ashley , Mike, Logan (8) and Benjamin (3)
