Hi, I’m Milo. Im 18 and I’m trying to raise money to help cover the cost of my top surgery.
I’m starting my last year of sixth form studying maths, further maths, and physics, and I’m hoping to study theoretical physics at university. I’m also really into drama; I’ve been in school productions, local theatre, and even performed in Germany last year, which was so much fun. I like performing just as much as messing around with tricky physics problems.
I realised I was trans when I was 12, and I’ve been out publicly since I was 14, so a lot of thought and careful consideration has gone into my identity. Just before I turned 15, I started testosterone, which was a huge step forward for me. But top surgery is the final piece that will let me live the way I’ve always wanted to.
It’s hard to explain how much this affects my everyday life! Even things like swimming, showering, going to the gym, wearing a nice suit, or just chucking on a t-shirt are things I have to think about a lot. I’ve been binding with tape for years, and while it’s helped me get by, it’s also taken a toll on my skin and my mental health.
The surgery will cost at least £9,500, and I’m aiming to raise £3,000 towards it. The rest I’m hoping to save up from working. I’m aiming to have it done in June or July next year, straight after my A-levels, so I can start university in September feeling comfortable in my own body.
If you can donate, that would mean the world to me. If not, sharing this page and keeping an eye out for any fundraisers I might plan over the next year would help just as much.
Thanks so much,
Milo
